  • All people working on SMS campaigns need to have both SMS and Subscriber permissions.
  • SMS numbers must contain valid numbers with country codes included. Numbers may contain +, spaces, and dashes.

Add a query for SMS numbers in Altru

This is where you set up your subscribers to import into WordFly.

  1. In Altru, go to Analysis > Information Library
  2. Click Add an ad-hoc query
  3. In the Select a Source View window, choose Constituent from the Record Type dropdown
  4. Click Constituents, then OK. This will take you to the view where you can build your query.
  5. INCLUDE RECORDS WHERE...
The “Include records where” section tells WordFly which constituents to import for the campaign. Since it is an SMS campaign, you’ll want to make sure the constituents have a Cell Phone number with a country code and that they have not opted out.

At a minimum, you must include these fields in the “Include records where” section
    • Phones\Do not call is equal to No
    • and Phones\Phone type is equal to Cell Phone
    • and Phones\Country is equal to United States (and/or Canada)

You may want to add more fields here to only pull in constituents who live in Canada, for example.

  6. RESULTS FIELDS TO DISPLAY...
The “Results fields to display” section provides the data that WordFly needs to send your email campaign.

You must include these fields in the “Results fields to display” section
    • Constituent record
    • Phones\International Number

You may want to add more fields here if you want to personalize your message with a First Name, for example.

  7. Now, click the “Set save options” tab to tell Altru that this query should display when using WordFly.

The Category on the Set Save Options tab must match the variable specified in the Ad-hoc query name that is listed for the account on the Altru Integration page in WordFly. (WordFly List Query)

The Permissions must allow all users to run this query.

This is required for sending event data back to Altru, e.g., unsubscribes and abuse complaints.
If you have not yet created an appeal, learn how.

  4. Map the fields in your Altru list to data fields that exist in WordFly

You may need to create new data fields for mapping. We’ve provided the most commonly used fields. You only need to map the fields that are required for your email content. Be cautious when importing any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data.

Check that these columns are mapped before continuing:
    • Map INTERNATIONALNUMBER to SMS Number in WordFly (Required)
    • Map ID to CrmSubscriberId in WordFly (Required for sending event data to Altru)
