September 25, 2025: Updated naming rules

Article author
Kelly Sutter

On September 25, 2025, we made a change that affects items that contain non-standard characters in various names throughout WordFly.

SUBJECT LINES — Updated Sept. 26, 5:20 PM PDT
• All Tests and Sent emails show the correct characters when sent.
• The subject line field on the email campaign Settings tab shows the correct characters.
• In the app, there are still areas where subject lines with certain characters may display as HTML entities. We are working on a fix.
• Subject lines can be verified by sending a Test email.

PAGES — Updated Dec. 3, 11:00 AM PDT
• Answers that use * or ★ are not registering results. We are working on a fix. A workaround is to write out “Five stars”, “Four stars”, “Three stars”, etc.

What changed

We’ve always recommended using standard characters when naming campaigns, lists, emails, data fields, preferences, etc., throughout WordFly. Up until now, we have not strictly enforced this.

We’ve made this update to improve data integrity and system performance in WordFly. By keeping names simple and consistent, we’re ensuring your campaigns run smoothly and your data stays reliable across our platform.

As of September 25, 2025, you will see changes in your existing names and when new items are created.
