If you’re using Tessitura and want to send SMS messages through WordFly, it’s essential to collect proper opt-in consent to comply with U.S. regulations and ensure carrier approval under the A2P 10DLC messaging standard. This guide outlines how to correctly set up SMS opt-in using TNEW.
Tip 1. Use the General Contact mobile phone field
Only use the General Contact mobile number field for SMS opt-ins. Do not use the event/item-based mobile field for general marketing SMS. That field is only appropriate when you’re sending messages related to a specific purchase. See Tessitura Help documentation.
Tip 2. Add a single consent checkbox
TNEW only supports one checkbox in this area. That checkbox must cover:
- SMS consent language
- Your terms and privacy policy
Do not create multiple tick boxes for SMS.
Make sure your message includes:
- Clear identification of your organization
- What types of messages they'll receive
- Mention of message/data rates
- Instructions to opt out
- Links to your policies
Example opt-in language (Supported format)
"By checking the box above and submitting this form, you agree to receive informational text messages from [Org Name] at the number provided. Message frequency will vary. Standard text and data rates may apply. Opt-out anytime by replying STOP. You also agree to our [Terms of Service] & [Privacy Policy].”
