Types of numbers
A2P 10DLC and Toll-Free (USA/Canada Only)
A2P 10DLC is basically what you think of as a local telephone number such as +1 555-555-5555. It is short for Application-to-Person 10-Digit-Long-Code and is the most common number type used in the USA.
Toll-free numbers are considered the norm for sending SMS in Canada.
Sending SMS using these types of numbers require that you verify your brand and that your messages are expected. This is a highly secure and regulated way to send SMS and thus there are rules and limitations on what type of messages you can send. As long as you are sending information about your venue, performances, tickets, or other updates, this is a great option. WordFly will provision a new number for your organization. If you currently send SMS through another system, you can port an existing number used for SMS.
Alphanumeric Sender ID - ASID (UK/EU/AUS Only)
This is your SMS “from name”. It appears when subscribers receive messages from you. You might consider matching it to a social handle name. It can be 11 characters or less, with no spaces.
