Sending an SMS campaign is like sending a text message to a friend, except in WordFly you’re sending it to your mobile subscribers. As with email marketing, SMS marketing follows specific rules in the countries you are sending to. Be sure to review the laws of your country before sending.
Supported countries
WordFly currently supports sending SMS to mobile carriers in the following countries:
Australia
Denmark
Finland
Ireland
New Zealand
Norway
Sweden
United Kingdom
WordFly SMS is currently not available to customers in the USA or Canada, but it is on the planned roadmap.
Getting started
WordFly SMS requires a few steps to enable. There is a $250.00 USD startup fee that covers configurations. Once we have your request, we require five business days to complete the configuration.

Tell us your Alphanumeric Sender ID (also known as Short Name)
This will be your SMS “from name”. It appears when subscribers receive messages from you. You might consider matching it to a social handle name.
Requirements: Max. 11 characters, alphanumeric, no spaces

Let us know who should have access to create and send SMS messages from your account.

Provide a mobile number for testing
We’ll send a test message to this number when your account is configured.
If you are sending to phone numbers in Australia...
Australia’s Scam Code requires Sender ID registration to help ensure that Australian consumers are safe from fraud and that messages are not blocked. We will send you a file to gather the information that is required for us to register your Sender ID on your behalf. Learn more
SMS features
- CRM-integrated customers (Tessitura and Centaman) can import lists from their CRM and have SMS responses sent back to the CRM
- SMS messages can contain up to 160 characters
- Our Add link tool to create unique trackable short URLs for each subscriber
- Personalization (First Name, etc.) can be added and previewed before sending
- SMS clicks and bounces can be viewed after the campaign is sent
- SMS and Subscriber user permissions are required for people sending SMS campaigns
Search for an SMS subscriber
First, copy the subscriber’s mobile number. Omit dashes and other special characters from the number before copying.
1. Go to Subscribers > Subscriber Search
2. Paste in your subscriber’s mobile number and click Search
3. Select the subscriber from the search results
Each mobile subscriber an email address, it will be formatted like this ‘mobilenumber@smpp.wordfly.com’.
4. You’re now in the Subscriber Profile
View the mobile subscriber’s data and activity right in WordFly. Review the SMS subscriber’s profile landing page. Click on the Subscriber Activity page or Lists page to see more information about your mobile subscriber.
