Pages Beta

What is a beta release?

A beta release is the first time a product is available to a large group of users. This is the first time Pages is available to the WordFly community. Watch for regular updates as we incorporate user's suggestions and continue to make Pages a fundamental tool for your marketing goals.

What should I expect in beta?

In beta, we will collect feedback from our users and log issues. Our team will primarily focus on fixing issues and secondarily focus on finalizing a core set of updates for Pages. At the end of beta, expect a formal announcement about selecting a pricing plan and any other details you need to continue using Pages.

How long is the beta period?

We expect the beta period to last approximately a month, ending around mid-March 2018. This could become a bit longer depending on what we find in this period, but you should calculate around that time. We're eager to hear user feedback and thoughts.

What are your pricing plans? When will you start charging?

Pages is FREE in beta. Pricing information is available in the Account section in WordFly. Click on Account > Pages Pricing Plan to review pricing.

CRM Integrations

Will there be a Tessitura integration for RSVPs and Surveys?

Yes - There will be a Tessitura integration for RSVPs and Surveys! The integration is in the works and should be ready when we come out of beta (TBD mid-March, 2018). This could become a bit longer depending on what we find in beta testing, but you should calculate around that time.

How will the Tessitura Integration work?

RSVP and Survey integrations will work similarly to our preferences feature. We’ll provide a script that will setup new database tables and a new stored procedure. The collected data will be sent to the new database tables and the new stored procedure can be configured to update the data on the constituent record in any way the organization wants to have it reflected.

For example:

  • RSVP data could create an elevated event, special activity, CSI or an attribute on the constituent record.
  • Survey responses could have attributes added on the constituent record.

How will the RSVP and Survey response data be stored in the database?

WordFly will extract the questions and possible responses from the page and store them in the database. The responses will then be stored in related tables. It will store data that identifies which page the response is for and which subscriber submitted.

Pages permissions

What permissions are required?

Pages will be available to all organizations and permission to create Pages will be given to all users. Only users with permission to modify permissions will be able to give Publish privileges to users.

Users will need Design Library access for the Media folder link to show up in the Pages sub-nav. Without this permission, they can still add images in the pages editor. If a user has Design Library access for Email, they will automatically have it for Pages. The Media library is the same for both Email and Pages.

My new user doesn't have access to Pages even though I gave permission during user setup.

(Known Issue) New users that are granted permission to access Pages during their user setup will need the permission reset. This is a known issue and will be fixed when Pages is out of beta.

Pages / Modern Editor

Will Pages Modern Editor code update during beta and after?

Yes! During beta (and beyond), Pages Modern Editor code will update. Code updates can be manually added to existing Pages or a new Page can be created for the updates.

Where is media saved?

When you create a new page, multiple files are saved into a media folder for that page. These are called Page Sets.

An RSVP Page Set consists of three HTML pages + CSS files:

  • Form
  • Confirmation–Yes
  • Confirmation–No

A Survey Page Set consists of two HTML pages + CSS files:

  • Form
  • Confirmation

A Landing Page Set consists of one HTML page + CSS files:

  • Page

HTML pages contain the code that the browser renders, and CSS files contain the styles that define the design of the pages. These files can be accessed in the editor via the HTML and CSS tabs at the bottom of the editor.

Similar to email media, Pages media will be saved to the media library in the media folder for that page.

Can I delete the RSVP Yes/No/Submit or Survey Submit form blocks?

No, these blocks cannot be deleted. RSVPs and Surveys require these form blocks to successfully post responses back to WordFly.

If you move these required blocks into another container (such as a two-column or other structural block), that container cannot be deleted. Move the required blocks out of the container to be able to delete the container.

How do I change my RSVP Yes/No and Submit button styles?

Form block styles use separate styles than single blocks (such as the button block). You can edit your form block styles in the main STYLESHEET globally or edit individual blocks.

To update form block styles globally:

1. Go to STYLESHEET > FORM BLOCKS.

2. Select the form block that you need to edit.

3. Modify the styles here to update styles globally.

To update form block styles individual:

1. Click on a form block from your preview panel (right side).

2. Click on STYLES (this will default to This block).

3. Modify the styles for This block only.

Or, toggle to All Blocks to modify styles for all form blocks like this. This step is the same as updating in the STYLESHEET directly.

Note: The RSVP Form page has a required RSVP block (with Yes and No buttons), this form block's styles can only be edited from the preview panel.

How do I add fields for a radio buttons, checkboxes or dropdown form blocks?

In the open field where you see "option 1, option 2, option 3", you can edit these options to your selections and add new options by hitting enter (return) on your keyboard and type in the next option.

Can I add more that 5 answers for survey form blocks?

For survey form blocks, survey details are set to 5 answers only and cannot be increased or decreased. Toggle answers to Disagree-Agree or 1-5. Edit the answer fields to your desired information by typing in anything else you prefer.

Where do I change the required field marker or styles?

Change the required field marker in your Page settings. Select the cog icon from the edit content panel (left side) to access the settings for your Page.

To update the style for your required marker globally:

1. Go to STYLESHEET > General Styles.

2. Open the Required Marker element.

3. Adjust the styles.

To update the required marker style individually:

1. Click on a form block from your preview panel (right side).

2. Click on STYLES (this will default to This block).

3. Open the Required Marker element.

4. Modify the styles for This block only.

Or, toggle to All Blocks to modify the required marker styles for all form blocks like this. This step is the same as updating in the STYLESHEET directly.

How do I edit the height between radio button and checkbox answers?

To update the height globally for radio buttons:

1. Go to the STYLESHEET tab (left side).

2. Open Form Blocks.

2. Click on STYLES (this will default to This block).

3. Select the Checkbox element.

4. Open Adjust spacing and adjust margin.

How do I set character limit on text area form blocks?

Text area form blocks have a maxlength setting. Set this to the highest character length you will allow. Each character is equal to 1. For example, if you allow 250 characters this includes any spaces and punctuation.

How do I setup a text field form block?

Text field form blocks collect different types of data that must be typed into the open text field. Data includes dates, email, number, phone, text, time or a URL. Each field has it's own built-in validation. Set a field to required or not. (Optional) On select fields write a regular expression for the data validation.

Select from 7 text field types:

  • Date: Show a date picker. Use-case, collect a birthday date.
  • Email: Collect an email address.
  • Number: Open text field for a number value.
  • Phone: Open text field for a phone number. Use-case, collect a home or mobile contact number.
  • Text: Collect text. Use-case, best for short text. Use a Text area form block for longer areas of text.
  • Time: Show a time picker. Use-case, collect the best time for a follow up call.
  • URL: Collect a URL.

Regular Expression Patterns

(Optional) You can write a regular expression pattern to ensure accuracy for some of the fields. Example, write a regular expression for email type to check that the email contains a valid top-level domain and no spaces in the address portion. Or, write a regular expression to make sure a phone number contains dashes.

Maxlength

Set maxlength to the highest character length you will allow a user to input. Each character is equal to 1. For example, if you allow 250 characters this includes any spaces and punctuation.

What happens when date and time text field form blocks are not supported in a browser?

Date and time text field form blocks aren't supported everywhere and will display as open text fields in these cases. Use maxlength to set a limit on how much text can be added and use placeholder or question text to show the format requested. For example, if asking for a date, show a preferred date format as the placeholder text (Ex, mm/dd/yyyy).

What if I want to collect a date that is just month?

Use a Text Field Form and select Type > Text. Enter Month in the Placeholder field and set a maxlength.

My buttons are white and I can't see the RSVP check on my submit buttons.

The RSVP Yes/No button check mark (selected state) is white in the beta release. We may offer alternative styles in future releases but white will be the permanent color for now. Use another background color in the interim; for example, gray or black or another appropriate color.

To set a background color for the checked state:

1. Select the RSVP or Submit form block button from the preview panel (right side).

2. Select the Yes/No Buttons Checked element.

3. Select a Background color.

How do I associate subscribers to an RSVP or Survey Page?

Use email campaigns to associate subscribers to any RSVP or Survey Page. Set this option when you browse to one of your pages from Modern Editor.

1. Open your email design in Modern Editor.

2. Select any block from the preview panel (right side).

3. In the URL field (or href field for text links), select Browse Pages.

You will see all your Pages (including in progress and unpublished).

4. By default, the option to Associate with email subscriber will be enabled.

Only uncheck this option if you do not want to associate subscribers with RSVP and Survey Page results.

5. Select the Page you want.

6. Your Page URL will be added to the URL field (or href field).

Can Pages integrated with my Google Analytics account?

Yes. You can find helpful information for adding GA code to your Page here.

What is reCaptcha?

reCaptcha is a service from Google that helps protect our pages from spam and abuse. The captcha form will ask the user more questions the more suspicious it is.

Can I embed RSVP and Survey forms in my email design?

No. RSVP and Survey forms cannot be added to email designs. There are two reasons for this:

1. Most email clients don’t support forms.
2. Most ISP filters will block an email with form code in it.

This is why you’ve probably never received an email with an embedded form. But, trust us, if email support for forms ever changes we will be well poised to start including them in the body of emails.

Page Settings

The Publish button is greyed out, what is going on?

There are two cases where the Publish button is greyed out:

  1. User has not made any edits to a Page Set. You can't publish a page set that hasn't been edited because the essential files aren't created on the back-end until at least of one the pages in the set has been saved.
  2. User doesn't have permission to publish pages.

I already published my Page Set, how do I make new changes live?

If you make any changes to your published Page Set, you have to unpublish and then republish it for changes to appear on the live page. We also recommend clearing cache to see your updates faster. Note: When Pages is out of beta there will be an option to sync updates in live.

Do Page Sets expire?

No, published Page Sets do not expire at this time.

Once a Page Set is unpublished, is the data still available?

Any collected data for RSVP and Survey Pages will still be available after setting a Page Set to unpublished. Data can be reviewed at any time from the Results page.

Is A/B testing available for Surveys?

Use WordFly's A/B template testing option to send two different surveys. First create two different Survey Pages. Then create a new email campaign. From the settings tab of the campaign, check the box I want to do A/B testing for my campaign and then select A/B template. Insert one survey page link into template A and the other survey page link into template B.

Can I use my custom tracking domain for Pages?

No. Your custom tracking domain is tied to email tracking and cannot be used for Pages. This is a feature we will consider for the future if organizations are interested in it. Let us know!

My page is unpublished, what will display to the end-user if the public link is clicked?

Accessing the public link for an unpublished page will take the user to a landing page that reads: "Sorry, this page is no longer online." To review this page, navigate to the public URL for any unpublished page. We plan to have a page dedicated to customizing this landing page as a future enhancement.

Page Results

Will RSVP and Survey Page activity be available under Subscriber Profiles?

Yes! This is planned for the future.

Why is the same subscriber showing multiple times in the CSV export?

The CSV download is the raw export of every response for your RSVP and Survey Pages. This can be helpful if someone responds twice and they include additional helpful information in their response (such as accessibility requests). Use the sort function in excel to order the Subscriber column.

Is data collected by Pages encrypted?

Page data is not encrypted. Pages should not be used to collect sensitive information (e.g. credit card data).
