Upcoming Server Maintenance - May 5, 2016

In our ongoing efforts to continuously improve the stability and reliability of our infrastructure, we are making important upgrades to our server environment. To complete the updates, the WordFly application and tracking servers will be offline for a short period of time.

WHAT IS AFFECTED DURING THIS TIME?

 

You will not be able to log into WordFly.

Tracked links in emails will not be redirected.

Response data will not be collected or synced with CRMs.

Scheduled and triggered campaigns will be paused. At the end of the downtime, all campaigns that had been scheduled to go between 6-8 pm will begin sending.

 

 

 

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS

 

Depending on the time zone you reside in, we recommend sending early in the day or not sending campaigns on Thursday, May 5th.

If you absolutely must send, we recommend turning off the tracking for any links contained in the email. Our media server will remain online, so images in emails will display as usual. 

 

 

 

FAQ'S ABOUT UPCOMING SERVER MAINTENANCE WINDOW

 

What do you mean by 'Tracked links in emails will not be redirected'?

When you send emails in WordFly all valid links are converted to tracking links by default. WordFly is then able to track clicks and other subscriber response data in the Reporting section (this is also sent back to CRMs in integrated accounts).

During the service window all the links in your email that have been converted to tracking links will not redirect to their appropriate locations. Response data will not be collected or synced with CRMs.

 

Will the Unsubscribe, View Email in Browser, and Forward to a Friend links work?

The Unsubscribe, View Email in Browser, and Forward to a Friend links are all dynamic tracking links in WordFly and will not be redirected during the maintenance window. You can remove the View Email in Browser and Forward to a Friend links from your email. All emails must contain an Unsubscribe link as required by law.

 

What do you mean by recommending 'turning off the tracking for any links contained in the email'?

We recommend turning off WordFly tracking so the link used in your email isn't converted to a tracking link (ex, "http://tracking.wordfly.com..."). With tracking disabled the link will work as is during the server maintenance window, and when the maintenance is complete the links will still work but will not return any reporting data.

 

To turn off tracking: In your campaign, go to the Testing tab > Full Review section to select which links to remove tracking.

Does this mean Google Analytics tracking will not work either

Correct. Tracking includes adding Google Analytics utm tags to all your links. If you turn off tracking on the links then GA tagging will also be turned off. You can manually add GA tags to your links if you turn off tracking!

Does this mean Tessitura Source number appending will not work either?

Tracking includes source appending on links. Since links will not be redirected the source appending will not be either. If you turn off tracking on the links then source appending will also be turned off. You can manually add source appending to your links if you turn off tracking!
