Segmentation: segment by subscriber preferences

Segment by preferences a subscriber has opted into for your Subscribe or two-step Unsubscribe pages.

Segmentation is a tool in WordFly that allows you to send to just one portion of your subscriber list. You can create a series of conditional statements which segment out subscribers depending on the criteria you set. You can reuse segments in future campaigns as well. Create your segment and give it a name to save the customizations for a quick go-to the next time you would like to send to the same segment.

We'll review how to segment your list by your subscriber preferences.

Segment by subscriber preferences

Segment by preferences a subscriber has opted into for your Subscribe or two-step Unsubscribe pages.

1. Set up your Email Campaign

2. Under the Subscribers tab, select your list

3. On the list summary click 'Other things you can do' and select 'Segment your list'

4. Select to segment by "Add data field"

5. Use the drop-downs to select options for the following:

  • From 'select data field' pick the data field that is a preference
  • From 'select operator' pick 'equal to'
  • In the open field on the right, enter in the number 1.

The number 1 means 'opted in' for the preference. The number 0 means 'opted out' for the preference. Since we want everyone who has signed up for this preference we will use the number 1.
