Customize the forward link

Starting August 2026, we are sunsetting the Forward page for deliverability and security purposes. In its place, we are moving to a mailto link that opens a message with a link to the View in Browser version.

  • Forward links in starter emails A-E, design system
As of August 12, 2026, the Forward page link is now a Mailto action that opens a message linking to the View in Browser version.

  • Forward links in existing emails, custom starter emails, custom blocks
Your existing Forward page will remain published and accessible from the Pages grid for the time being, but we encourage moving to the new link.

Basics

All WordFly starter emails have a Forward link added the Footer section. Forwarding a link to a recipient is the most predictable method to forward an email because it sends a properly formatted HTML email to the next email address. Using the forward button in an email client like Outlook will send a distorted version of the original email.

Forwarding is linked to a specific email, so you must link to the page from a test email or live email campaign. The link must contain the SubscriberID code (?sid=##subscriberMailingId##).

The new recipient is not added to a list when they receive a forwarded email and any opens/clicks or other email responses are not recorded.

Update the Forward link in your email

  1. In your email, scroll down to the Forward link in your footer. Double-click it to open the link window.

  2. In the Add/Edit link window, click on the Link dropdown and select Forward.

—or— Copy and paste this code directly into the Link field

    mailto:?subject=Thought%20you%20might%20like%20this%20&body=I%20thought%20you%20might%20like%20this.%0Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fe.wordfly.com%2Fview%3Fsid%3D##subscriberMailingId##
  3. To customize the default text, click on Mailto after the link is added.
Leave the Email Address field blank.
