What is a privacy policy?

A privacy policy is a statement or a legal document that discloses the way you gather and use customer data. Personal information can be anything that can be used to identify a subscriber such as email address, name, address, date of birth, etc.

This is usually a standard URL on your website that discloses the ways in which your organization gathers, uses, and manages patron data. Oftentimes on the privacy page an organization will review their opt-in and opt-out policies.
